# ampersend

ampersend is the control layer for the agent economy. It gives autonomous AI agents a wallet to spend from with policies, approvals, and audit trails — and gives you a dashboard to see exactly what they're doing with it.

ampersend is built by a team within [Edge & Node](https://edgeandnode.com), the founding team behind The Graph. The platform is in open beta and free to use during the beta period.

## How it works

Every agent gets its own [Safe](https://safe.global) smart account on Base mainnet, powered by a [Coinbase Developer Platform (CDP)](https://www.coinbase.com/developer-platform) embedded wallet that you own. Agents sign payments with session keys, which are co-signed by an ampersend server key that enforces the policies you define — neither the agent nor ampersend can move funds unilaterally. CDP wallets are self-custodial; you can export the private key at any time.

For payments, ampersend uses [x402](https://www.x402.org/), Coinbase's protocol for instant stablecoin settlement baked directly into HTTP requests. No checkout flow, no API key billing — just settle on-chain.

ampersend works with most agent frameworks (Google ADK, LangChain, CrewAI, LangGraph, OpenClaw, Hermes, etc.) via a CLI and SDK, and supports A2A, MCP, and plain HTTP for agent communication.

## What you can do

- Give agents a wallet that spends on any x402-enabled vendor
- Load wallets with a credit card, bank account, or stablecoins
- Set spend limits per agent (daily, monthly, per transaction) — enforced at the wallet level
- Configure allowlists of who an agent can transact with
- Set up auto top-up so agents always have funds available, within budgets you control
- See every transaction in real time — what was paid, to whom, why
- Configure auto-collection rules so any money your agents earn is routed where it needs to go
- Accept payments — agents can also earn via x402, not just spend
- Build agents that earn-then-spend on the resources they need
